Why questions?

Questions give us options that answer just don't.

Ever heard the saying 'Give a man a fish and you'll feed him for a day but teach a man to fish and you'll feed him for a lifetime'? You probably have and its about helping people develop away from being dependent.

I like to give a Question version of this phrase:

"Give a person an Answer and you'll feed them for a day but give a person a Question and you'll feed them for a lifetime'

Questions invite the open ended and unlike answers, are accessed at a level that is exactly where the hearer is at. This means that instead of having to get into the answer-giving person's mindset, education, culture & history, they work out the question in their own space.
